May 7, 2008 -- KANSAS CITY, MO -- Multivac completed the full market introduction of all models of its new thermoform machine generation at Europe's Interpack trade exhibition. The worldwide market launch began in late 2007 with the high-speed Multivac R535 debuting at the Worldwide Food Expo in Chicago, IL. The seven-day Interpack show in Düsseldorf, Germany, which ran from April 24-30, is the world's largest packaging exhibit, and served as an ideal forum at which to launch the additional machine models. Interpack attendees were able to see the mid/high-range R245, compact R145 and economy R125 models in action.
"The full availability of our complete range of new-generation thermoforming technology puts our customers in an immensely powerful position," says Jan Erik Kuhlmann, president and CEO of Multivac, Inc. "Processors and manufacturers of every size can now take advantage of these precision packaging systems to reduce costs, boost throughput, and improve their package reliability and aesthetics in a way that builds brands, drives growth, and enhances profitability."
Multivac's new machine generation has significantly raised the bar in the packaging machinery industry, once again setting a new standard in hygiene and process security. The machines offer a completely new basic design which simplifies and accelerates the cleaning process for food processors, while adding a host of other features for enhanced performance, ergonomics and efficiency.
Multivac's new generation thermoform systems are the first to offer a new option fully developed in the packaging machine industry. The machines can be equipped with an integrated clean-in-place (CIP) system, which automates the cleaning of component groups inside the machine. After a pre-cleaning, a cleaning program can be started at the push of a button, which can be controlled from the central control system. The standardized, logged process ensures adherence to predetermined cleaning cycles, and dosages/mixtures of sanitizing chemicals. In this way the internal component groups are cleaned automatically by an extensive system of jets and pipes. Exterior cleaning is executed manually with an attached spray gun, and is also integrated into the CIP procedure for process control.
All new Multivac equipment also comes standard with IPC control systems for seamless integration with upstream and downstream packaging line components.
